The guiding interest behind my research agenda is best characterized by research that explores how people change. At various points I have been involved in research on intergroup contact theories, prosocial behavior after natural disasters and after trauma, enthnopolitical conflict, effectiveness of leadership development programs, women in leadership, purpose and purposefulness at work, effectiveness of digital health interventions, and most recently, modeling non-deterministic human behaviors in discrete food choices (a blend of artificial intelligence and behavioral science).

The red thread bringing these interests together is how people, intentionally or unintentionally, are subjected to an event that in some mostly predictable way changes their values, attitudes, and/or behaviors.

In 2023 I am practicing my non-academic writing with the posts you can find here.
